IFP Color Project
October 02 2013
This October I worked on a piece with the fine folks at MPC for the opening of the brand new New York IFP Media Center in Dumbo. I created a suite of tools for scouring geographical areas (defined by GeoJSON) for “interesting” colors (manually and programmatically) and then capturing Google Earth sequences using openFrameworks with ofxAwesomium (created for this project) and the excellent FFMPEG openFrameworks addon ofxVideoRecorder.
We chose important locations from several IFP-supported films and created huge montages of over 300 dramatic zooming Google Earth shots. The final result was shown on 27 large HD screens.
